Osmosis in potatoes experiment. In this experiment I will be seeing how the amount of Glucose (C6H12O6) in a solution of glucose and water affects the amount that the potatoes mass changes. This will show how osmosis works in plants such as the cylinders of potato I will use in this experiment. To complete this Experiment I will need: Potato Beaker x2 Large Small Beaker x11 Sugar Solution Distilled Water Measuring Cylinder Cork Borer Tweezers Scalpel Tile Paper Towels Pencil Cling Film These are all vital components to the experiment, except the pencil and paper towels but they were of some importance. I will start this experiment by first mixing the solutions, to mix the solutions to 50ml, for say the 50% glucose solution I would have to mix 25ml of distilled water with 25ml of glucose solution. Then for each of the solutions I have to cut a hole in the potatoes 3 times for each of the different solutions then trim the ends...
