Energy, Respiration & the Environment Explored

Energy, Respiration and the Environment Defined

Energy exists as heat, light, kinetic energy, and electrical and mechanical energy. Respiration is aerobic (energy is released from substrates when introduced to oxygen) and anaerobic (the conversion of glucose into energy and gases). The environment is our ecosystem and everything within it.

Why Study Energy, Respiration and the Environment?

Understanding these factors is critical to developing an understanding of the composition of the plants, animals, organisms and humans that inhabit our ecosystem.

What Will I Study?

You'll write essays and coursework on how organisms and energy interact to form ecosystems. Your projects will cover topics such as the influence of humans on ecological balance and genetic variation. You'll also conduct scientific experiments in these areas.

Further Study after Energy, Respiration and the Environment

The essays and coursework you complete will enable you to investigate more deeply at Degree level areas such as photosynthesis, chemical energy, plant and animal respiration, mitochondria, acetates and substrates.

"The author makes some useful points regarding the legal status and use of limited companies, but is overall rather limited in its scope. The essay includes a number of generalisation which are not true as often as the author makes out, and some important focuses are omitted - for example, the *main* aim of a limited company is, in the vast majority of cases, to make a profit. The discussion of pros/cons could take substantial expansion - for example, the author does not describe what is meant by "limited liability", while major disadvantages such as the compliance burden are not mentioned.
